THE STORY BEGIN

Join us on the journey!

Blockchain technology has made it possible for us to connect real community values with digital ownership.

Christians may be asking, “why the Torah? Why not the Gospels?” It’s true that the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—are foundational to the Christian faith. But did you know that the Torah is foundational to the Gospels? The Torah is the cornerstone of the Bible that was read by our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Christianity is a religion of redemption, and the redemptive story begins in Genesis. There we learn that God created the world and called it good, that He created man in His very image and gave him the earth to “subdue and multiply.” We also learn the tragic news that man rebelled against God and brought darkness and sin into the world, but that God promised one day the head of the serpent would be crushed by the offspring of Eve (Gen 3:15).

We learn from the Torah that sin equals death, but that God has given blood sacrifices to substitute for our own punishment for our sins—that anyone who would believe in His atonement, would not perish for their sins (Lev 16).

We learn from Exodus that God is a God who saves His people from slavery and bondage. We learn that before Christ came to rescue us from sin, His chosen people were rescued from slavery in Egypt. Before we were called to be saved by the blood of the Lamb, God’s people were saved by the blood at the Passover. And before we were called to believe and be baptized, God’s people were baptized by passing through the Red Sea that crushed the Egyptian army who was pursuing them.

We learn that God blesses the world through vicarious men, such as Abraham. We learn that God’s plan in choosing and blessing the Jews was ultimately that all nations would be blessed by Abraham’s seed (Gen 22:18).

Why the Torah? Because it is a powerful testament of salvation, the first revelation of the holiness, goodness and kindness of our God! Christians who do not have a considerable grasp of this great work, are sorely missing the heart of God for His created image bearers. At MetaBible, we invite you into the story of Redemption and into this Holy Book.

One special attribute of the NFT investment culture is that in these marketplaces where NFTs are bought and sold, a community tends to develop. Humans are tribal organisms and when there is a common bond, we tend to gather. At MetaBible, we see a powerful opportunity to build an NFT community around the most important shared values that we have as the people of God, the Bible. God calls us to gather with other Christians in the Church, and one way we do this is through our local churches in our cities and neighborhoods. But now we can be a gathering place for Christians all over the world, not as a replacement for a local in person congregation, but as a supplement and an opportunity for a wider ranging community and mission. Together we can resource the mission of the Kingdom of God in Israel, and not only that, but we can seek to grow together spiritually, encouraging one another as the Last Day approaches and we await the return of the King of Kings.

Sadly, many Christians fail to understand God’s heart for Israel. There is a false doctrine called Replacement Theology that says the Church has replaced Israel as the chosen people of God. This is wrong and it fails to take into account Paul’s strong words on the subject in Romans 11. Here are some highlights, but the whole chapter is worth study.

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.” (Romans 11:1 ESV)

Paul is clear, God has not rejected His people.

11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean! (Romans 11:11-12)

Their temporary blindness was mercy to the Gentiles, and verse 12 reminds us of their full inclusion.

16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” (Romans 11:16-19)

These verses show that the Church did not replace Israel, but was grafted in. Israel is “the root that supports” the Church. Paul goes on to say that in time, the full number of Gentiles will have entered into the people of God, and then verses 26-27 say,

26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; 27 “and this will be my covenant with them  when I take away their sins.”

Because as it says in verse 29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” The Jews are our root and our brothers. There is not a follower of Jesus alive whose faith would not be strengthened by a connection to the Holy Land. We are proud and delighted at MetaBible to facilitate this connection!
